Our Story
UNOFFICIAL was born from a simple observation: the best brand identities come from the communities they represent. Traditional top-down design processes often miss the cultural nuances, inside jokes, and authentic expressions that make brands resonate.
We started with Nigerian universities, where students have been creating unofficial merchandise for decades. Rather than fight this creativity, we decided to celebrate it - creating a platform where designers can submit work, communities can vote, and winners earn both prizes and ongoing commissions.
Today, we're expanding beyond universities to companies and states, proving that the best brands are built by the people who love them most.
