Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using UNOFFICIAL ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. User Accounts

Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

User Conduct

Users must not: submit plagiarized work, engage in vote manipulation, harass other users, violate intellectual property rights, or use the Platform for illegal purposes.

3. Design Submissions

Complete Rights Transfer

By submitting any design to a competition on UNOFFICIAL, you immediately and permanently transfer ALL rights, title, and interest in that design to Gooverio Labs. This includes but is not limited to copyright, trademark rights, distribution rights, reproduction rights, and all other intellectual property rights. You will not retain any rights to use, reproduce, modify, or sell the submitted design after submission.

Compensation

In exchange for transferring all rights to your design, you may receive prize money if you win a competition, and you may earn commissions on merchandise sales featuring your design for a period of up to 2 years from the date the design is first offered for sale. After submission, Gooverio Labs owns the design completely and may use it for any purpose without further compensation or permission.

Originality

All submissions must be your original work. Plagiarism or copyright infringement will result in immediate disqualification and potential account termination.

Content Guidelines

Submissions must not contain: hate speech, explicit content, violence, discriminatory imagery, or content that violates third-party rights.

4. Competitions

Voting

Votes are binding. Vote manipulation (bots, fake accounts, buying votes) will result in disqualification and account suspension.

Prizes

Prize amounts are specified per competition. Winners will be paid via bank transfer to their registered account within 14 business days of competition conclusion.

Commissions

Winning designers may earn 10 percent commissions on merchandise sales featuring their design for a maximum period of 2 years from the date the design is first offered for sale. Commissions are paid monthly once the balance reaches 5,000 Naira. After the 2-year period, or if Gooverio Labs chooses to discontinue commission payments at any time, all earnings cease and Gooverio Labs retains full ownership and all profits from the design.

5. E-Commerce & Payments

All purchases are final. Refunds may be issued for defective products or non-delivery. We use secure third-party payment processors (Paystack/Flutterwave).

Shipping times are estimates and may vary. We are not responsible for customs delays or fees for international orders.

6. Intellectual Property

The Platform, its code, design, and branding are owned by UNOFFICIAL. Users may not copy, modify, or redistribute Platform content without permission.

University names, company logos, and state symbols used in competitions are used for identification purposes only and do not imply endorsement.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Users may delete their accounts at any time, but all submitted designs remain the permanent property of Gooverio Labs and cannot be reclaimed or used by the original creator.

8. Disclaimers

UNOFFICIAL is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, competition outcomes, or merchandise quality (though we strive for excellence).

We are not liable for damages arising from Platform use, including lost profits, data loss, or third-party actions.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. Disputes will be resolved in Lagos courts.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. Major changes will be announced via email.
